Singapore apartments get a garage in the sky

If you're a millionaire, you face hundreds of dilemmas each day. Do you park your supercar in a downtown garage and risk scraping the nose? Ouch. Do you park it on the side of the road and fear that some pesky pedestrian scrapes, spits or dares to touch your precious in any way? Fear not! Singapore has the solution! Hamilton Scotts has just revealed its brand spanking new Sky Garage Apartments.

The Singapore-based high-rise will literally deliver your car right outside your living room. All you do is step inside and ride the elevator down.  It is all a little too Star Trek. Although, perhaps the most galactic thing about the Sky Garage Apartments is the price. If you thought that a penthouse apartment with a garage in the living room would come with a hefty price tag, you'd be right.

Sky Garage Apartments start at $7.5 million dollars for a two car garage( is that all?), and end at $24 million for a penthouse with a four car garage (that's more like it!).

All New Mazda 6 debut

An all new Mazda6 sedan has been unvailed at the Moscow Auto Show. It's quite pretty isn't it? Styling isn't the only thing that got an overhaul in the new Mazda6, just about everything else did.

Styling first, it's the end product of what Mazda calls the "Kodo- Soul of Motion" design language. Whatever. The new Mazda6 looks modern, sleek and quite sexy for a family sedan. The old Mazda6 wasn't a minger, but it didn't have the presence like a lot of its European rivals. The all new Mazda6 is longer, spanning 4,800mm in lenght, but also more butch. It's like Mike Tyson in a tuxedo: large, but sophisticated at the same time.
Despite its length, the new Mazda6 is lighter than the car it replaces. The 2.0 petrol saloon weighs in at 1,340kg, almost 100kg less than the old 6 and less than 200kg than the S class equivalent. Mazda has managed to strip all the weight down, not by removing necessities, but by using clever and light-weight materials. The new Mazda6 is built by using high-tensile steel, which not only makes the car lighter, but improves rigidity.
Engine wise, the Mazda 6 will launch with a 2.0 liter four with 148 horsepower and a 2.5 with 189, both from the SkyActiv stable. SkyActiv motors come with higher compression ratios, better pistons and injectors and a bunch of other tweaks to make petrol as explosey as possible - which sounds fun.
SkyActiv diesels will follow, pinched from the CX-5 crossover. Both, petrols and diesel motors will be available in either a six-speed manual or a SkyActiv-Drive automatic.

There's also a clever brake regeneration system called the i-Eloop. The i-Eloop will generate lost kinetic energy when the driver lifts off the throttle, or something. Anyways, Mazda reckons it will improve economy by up to 10 per cent. In case you think the new and larger Mazda6 is err, too small, there's an estate version to debut at the Paris Motor Show later this year.

Corvette vs Electric Skateboard Drag Race

The C5 Vette lines up the Granboard Trail Rider in a 75 foot drag race. The motorized skateboard packs four 850-watt electric motors which produce as much as 4.5 horsepower. Requiring only two hours to charge a full battery, the Trail Rider can hit 0-28mph in 1.9 seconds and travel a range up to 15 miles.

The Corvette on the other hand, packs a 5.7 liter V8 with 350 horsepower and can do the 0-60mph sprint in 4.7 seconds. Check out the outcome in the video below.

Hydrogen Powered Green GT H2 to run at this year's Le Mans

Auto Goss
A hydrogen powered racer called the Green GT H2 will be competing at this year's Le Mans. The Green GT H2 has been approved by ACO ( the organization that governs the famed 24 hour race and its associate series) and will line up as an experimental car from the 56th garage on the pit line.

The Green GT H2 resembles some current LMP1 and LMP2 type racers, but it's what powers this incredible machines that separates it from just about anything out there at the moment. A hydrogen fuel cell powers two batteries to give the Green GT H2 a solid 537bhp and an incredible 3,000lb-ft (about three times as much as a Bugatti Veyron).

Le Mans is of course all about endurance. Some cars make up for the lack of power by spending less time refueling in the pits. That's where the Green GT H2 may struggle just a little bit. The tank can only hold about 40minutes worth of hydrogen, meaning that the H2 will need to refuel at least 36 times over the course of the 24-hour event.

Still, a hydrogen powered car actually competing in Le Mans is an achievement in itself. If the Green GT H2 proves a success, the hydrogen technology fueling the racer find its way to a whole bunch of cars in the very near future.

Ralf Schumacher takes out an entire pit-crew at DTM practice

Michael Schumacher's younger brother has left four pit crew members injured after clipping an air hose on his way out of the pits. Amazingly, the whole thing was caught on camera.

The accident occured during a DTM practice in Zandvoort. Four pitcrew members were hospitalized, but luckily did not sustain any serious injuries. By now all four pit crew members will be safe and sound. Possibly in bed sipping on some hot chocolate or getting ready for the next DTM race.

Japan's Greatest Supercars part 1 : The NSX

Japan is not necessarily known for its supercars. Small eco boxes and station wagons sure, but the nation has only produced a handful of "super" cars. While there has been a number of successful sports cars, very few had the styling or horsepower figures to deem them supercar worthy.

That is until Honda announced the NSX. The Honda NSX was Japan's first true supercar. Originally styled by Italian designer Pininfarina, the NSX had the looks and the power to match. The NSX combined everyday usability and practicality with supercar styling and performance. Like a true supercar, the NSX had its engine in the middle. A 3.0 DOHC V6 Vtec packed with 270 wild, rampant horses was mounted right behind the driver and his chosen passenger. While the power output may not seem that impressive now, it was plenty impressive in 1990. Weighing in at just over 1,300kg the NSX could hit 100 clicks in around 5 seconds and clock the quarter mile in just over 13 seconds. That's no slouch even by today's standards. In its time, the NSX got more powerful and lost more weight in the form of the NSX Type R. Unfortunately, the production of the NSX came to a halt in 2005. The Honda NSX left behind a legacy. It wasn't just the first supercar to come out o Japan, it was the first supercar that could be driven everyday.
